Accuracy of Fabia RS speedo

Featured Replies

Has anyone measured what the Fabia RS speedo reads given a particular speed on the speedo. Theres a sign near where I live that lights your speed up as you pass it, and IIRC about 33 = 31 mph, but I want to know if anyone has measured it at higher speeds, and whether they will all be more or less the same?

Cheers

on my GPS at 80mph the speedo reads 85mph. Also at lower speeds is about 4mph out 30 on speedo reads as 26-27mph on the GPS

Well there is about 4mph difference between my Octy vRS speedo and one of those speed display signs at Road works on the A8 over here in N.Ireland. I have to reach 44-45mph before that sign shows me doing 40mph.

I got worried then, but at least an indicated 30mph isnt actually 33-34mph

Using the gps unit mine come out at :-

30mph speedo - 28mph gps

60mph speedo - 57mph gps

70mph speedo - 67mph gps

80mph speedo - 76mph gps

mine is similar to this, on my old clio my satnav and b2 was spot on speedwise.

If the speedo is out, isn't that going to give an inacurate mileage readout?

So which is the actual speed, GPS speed or speedo?

Cheers :)

Mine is spot on according to three smiley speedy things near me - 2 set at 20 and 1 at 30. My problem is at 70 MPH - the Speedo generally reads 90 - I'm absolutly positive that I'm doing 70!. ;)
