I need a new aerial and mounting for my Fabia. What I mean by the mounting is the plastic bit which is housed on top of the car's roof. I need this replaced because the threaded ring inside it into which the aerial is screwed has gone missing. I have two questions regarding this if somebody could help.....

1. Where would the best place for me to get these parts?

2. Will it be a difficult job for me to place the new mounting on my car. I suppose I'll have to get into the roof lining to do this. Anybody with any experience of doing this?

1: Roof antenna, Base & mast. 1U0 035 505 F (I'd double check the part No. first though) Either dealer, TPS or try Jorily.

2: With the tailgate open, Carefully remove the centre trim panel. Total PITA so be warned! once this is removed the headlining can be gently pulled down and the aerial retaining nut and cable connector can be accessed.

Thanks for that. What does 'TPS' stand for.....and 'PITA' mean? Sorry for being such a dunse! :-)

I'd go to a dealer for that part - there are a number of variations on the connectors etc. depending upon year. I ended up with three different ones from an indy before finally taking the aerial and base off and physically taking it in to a main dealer to get the exact replacement.

oh yes, that's always the case in anything, but as a rule the general public can't buy from TPS
