Wow, a huge spec. Plenty to play with there:)

DriveTheDeal quote car and extras at £20212.90 at todays price. I doubt whether you could do a deal though before tonights 3% price increase.

On mine DTD came in at £16988 - I did a deal with Progress Bedford at £17250 because of the P/X

aye I looked at DTD and did think that the price they where offering was going to be hard to beat. Plus the dealership is not that far away and atleast if anything goes wrong with the sale its within a 30 min drive.

The car is already on the system (as of yesterday so the salesman has stated) so its just awaiting for me to sign on the line and pay the deposit.

I've bought from a dealer 18 miles away so feel comfortable with that

Get the dealer to put on the paperwork(order) that the price is fixed so even if it comes in January they will still have to honour the VAT off and 0% finance. You will have to pay the extra 2.5% VAT though but end up with a 2010 car.

You have selected nearly £4000 of extras, you do realise you would not see much of that back come the day you sell it on. Thats the main reason I did not order leather and sunroof

It's the OPs car, why should he not order the options he wants?

I'd pay more for a car that had the options I wanted, as would many other people.

I know at the end of the day I wont get back the money come resale on the options but if I was going for it then it had to tick all the boxes.

Skoda will honour delivery before the end of the year. :D

Just to say that sounds like a top car.

One of the advantages of buying brand new is that you can tailor the exact car you want so why not get all the extras i say!

Enjoy the car, they look great in white.

Good for you

I think that is one of the best specced VRS's I have seen

We should both get ours at about the same time :)

We should both get ours at about the same time :)

So we all ordered within a day or so, mine is as follows

Octavia VRS 2.0TFSI Estate, Met Silver

Xenons

Curtain Airbags

Sunset Glass

Full Leather

Heated Seats

Maxi Dot

Front Parking Sensors

Rear Parking Sensors

Silver Roof Rails

Light Assist/Auto Windscreen Wipers/Dimming Mirror

MDI (I Pod Connector)

(Free) Full Sized Spare Wheel

Got a good deal (a fair chunk under £19K)

Reasonable PX price (option to sell privately if reqd).

No delivery date set yet as Skoda are behind with their planning apparently, its going to be a close run thing if we all get them before Christmas.

Skoda have said that they will try to prioritise pre-sold orders to ensure delivery before the proposed VAT hike 1st Jan.

The other good thing for the VRS is that from week 45 the ESP upgrades to the Golf/Scirocco XDS system:thumbup:

Fingers Crossed I guess............

yeah they should indeed!! I have to say I cant wait, but I'm going to be really sad to see the old fabia going. Its been a real pleasure to own over the last 5 years.

I mentioned the XDS system to my dealer and he did not know anything about it as such, but he did say that all the bigger skoda models were at sometime gettin a revised system to bring them inline with VW

Hi guys,

First time on site and still figuring out how it works so go easy with me!.

My question(s) are,

Has anyone actually dealt with Drive the deal and taken delivery of a car through them, If so how do you rate them.

I'm looking to order a

Octavia VRS 2.0TFSI DSG Estate, Black

Sunset Glass

Full Leather

MFSW with bluetooth

Heated Seats

Rear Parking Sensors

Silver Roof Rails

Light Assist/Auto Windscreen Wipers/Dimming Mirror

DTD price £18,562, this was pre price increase so will have to add the increase obviously so should be around 19K.

2nd Question

Has anyone used a DTD quote at a local dealer and got same price, if so which dealer. I'm based in Leeds but will travel anywhere for the right price.

Thanks

I used the DTD deal price of £16988 to negotiate with my local dealer, Progress Bedford, and we haggled and they came down to £17250 which was acceptable to me. They also gave me reasonable price for my P/X

But another major point for me was that Progress Bedford gave a written guarantee that the price would be fixed to the pre-increase price with the VAT off and 0% no matter when I take delivery. If after 1st Jan I will have to pay the extra 2.5% VAT

Another dealer who would match the DTD price Marlborough Isleworth, would not give this guarantee

As you're the first person to reply, am I using the site correctly and is this the right way to ask my question.

thanks again
