New clutch after re-map?

Featured Replies

I am looking to get my car re-mapped but I would like to know how many people have had to have a new clutch fitted after re-mapping, due to the extra power? And how long after re-mapping was the new clutch needed?

no need if drive sensibly..

From what I have read on here, some go straight away, some haven't gone after 50,000+ miles. Best bet is to budget for a new clutch and see how long you can make the standard one last ;)

Clutch still ok after 63000 miles but don't try to accelerate hard in fifth or sixth from low revs.

if you dont have the money to get the clutch done if needed, personally i wouldnt remap it

I take it you have a vRS??? As said above, just dont boot it hard at low revs i.e under 2k, and there shouldnt be any problems. Just had mine re-mapped, on the orignal clutch at 90,000 miles, 2nd flywheel though, still have no slip.

I wish people would stop worrying.
