Can't change lightbulb on Pickup Felicia..

Featured Replies

Hey.

So, I am trying to change the lightbulb on the front lights, but cant work it out. Anyone know how to do this or anywhere I can order like a booklet or some kind of info?

Thanks!

Silje

Easier than most cars. There's a big cap you sort of unscrew (bit like a bayonet light bulb) then once that's off it should be self-explanatory.

actually, turns out it's the front glass on the headlights..any idea?

You sure?

From what I know and going by the book I have there is a cap you unscrew at the rear of the unit and that is how you get in. Admittedly I have had to remove the whole unit before to get in at it but that is more down to having large hands.

The problem is to have access to the lower clips that hold the glasses of the main front lamps of the vehicle.to gain this access we must remove the unit underneath the main lamp? How?

thanks again!:)

So you you are wanting to remove the whole head light unit?

Is it a facelift felly or one of the older ones?

If you only want to change a bulb you gain access to the bulbs from the back of the lamp, ie under the bonnet.

Ah. Very easy to do. Also just to confirm it has square lights (one side isn't rounded)

I would say it is a facelift model then as my felly is a '98 and a facelift model.

Open the bonnet up and look at each light unit you will see two screws at the top holding the unit in, take these out.

Then look to the side of the light at the top of the bumper bit you will see a wee screw holding to bit of plastic under the light on (you need a special screwdriver bit for it) take that screw out and the wee plastic panel will slide off.

You can now get to the two ther screws under the light unit, take those screws out. Now you can remove the whole headlight assembly including indecator. Just disconnect the wires and then either replace with a new unit or recondition your current unit.

Just watch when disconnecting the light adjustor bit take the whole thing out by turning it don't pull the wee pipe off.

Once done reconnect the units and place back to wheer it fits pit the screws back and refit the plastic trim it should just slide in and two little pin things hold the end opposite the screw into place and rescrew that in place.

Now that you have removed the unit go to your local friendly garage to check the allignment,

Right then. From that I take it is a old style front end.

You will first need to remove both front indicator units. Getting access to them is the tricky bit but once you have access you just need to push a wee plastic clib that holds the indicator unit on to the haed light unit and then pull the indicator unit forward and then disconnect it.

Then you will have access to the bolts at either side of the front panel once you have removed these bolts you will have another couple of screws/bolts to remove at the top of the panel. Once they are out you can remove the whole front panel and then you have access to the screws for the light units.

Just remove the screws and remove the unit and disconnect it being careful to remove the whole headlight adjustment part (black plastic bit) do not remove just the pipe.

Once you have everything removed you can do what you need to do, after that just replace everything in the order it cam out.

No need to remove the bumper.
