Latest update on vrs delivery times.

Featured Replies

Looks like good news for everyone waiting on ther new VRS's.My dealer phoned me last night at 5.00 saying he has received a fax from SUK saying that my proposed build week 48,with delivery between 14-21 december has now jumped to build week 42 with delivery expected week 46-48.

I ordered a Candy White VRS Estate 170 with Maxi/MDI/Sunset/Silver Roof Rails/Rear Sensors and space saver wheel on the 23rd august by the way :)

Encouraging news if you are going to get the car earlier.

But does it really take 4 to 6 weeks from building the car to taking delivery at the dealer?

What date is week 42

According to my dealer delivery times vary so much because of the unpredictable shipping times. You can be lucky and catch a boat as its about to sail or you might have to wait on the next one..........once it fills up:(

Week 42 is week commencing 12 October

Week 42 is week commencing 12 October

That means mine is getting built this week (Week 41)

The dealer said that I should have it during the week beginning 26th October.

I ordered my CR vRS DSG on 9 Sept. Options incl; Xenons, Bluetooth, Heated seats, rear sensors, Light assist pack. Ordered via DtD. Spoke to the dealer today who quoted late November (week 48 / 49) but said that Skoda were reviewing all firm orders in order to achieve delivery this year. Earlier would be nice - but not too early as I'd like the XDS that appears to be included in all builds from week 45 (see another thread).

Is this new 'XDS' system going to be on the CR diesel?

On the Golf its only on the petrol (GTi) and not the diesel (GTD)

Went into my dealer today and asked about build date

I ordered it originally on 22nd Sept but second car was ordered on 28th because I subsequently wanted the Bluetooth option.

It was confirmed by the factory on 5th October with a build date of week 2 of 2010

It is expected that this date will come forward

My dealer also said that Skoda would pay the extra 2.5% VAT if it ends up getting registered after 31-12-09

XDS? :confuse:

XDS? :confuse:

I forgot to ask while I was at the dealer :(

But I could not unstick the front end flat out around a roundabout with the ESP on

I'm guessing it will only be on the petrol vRS and not on the diesel. Interesting to know the delivery times are improving Dd cant wait for mine :D

XDS? :confuse:

What this system does is apply a slight amount of brakes to an inside wheel that has begun to slip while cornering. This slows the inside wheel to a rotational speed similar to the outside wheel and thereby provides maximum grip.

Thanks for that

I think we have an understanding of what it does.

We are trying to find out when it will come on the VRS and whether it will be on petrol and diesel or just petrol like the Golf GTi/GTD range

Its now on the Skoda website as just being an option on the VRS. It doesnt state its specifically for petrols. And if it is week 45 then I dont want my build date coming down past that.

Posted this link before, more a Yeti discussion but it does mention that Skoda's range is getting a new ESP system.

Yeti from new obviously, then Octavia, Superb with the Fabia next year (no mention of Roomster).

Also briefly mentions a sports ESP and Octavia & Fabia RS, which could mean XDS.

Article in CZ so need Google translate.
