Juddery wipers

Featured Replies

The wipers have started to judder really badly, I had this happen on a Fiat once with these flat blades and could never cure it. Any ideas please, as Im sure it cant be doing the motor any good.

The blades will need replacing, they do wear out.

I'm in agreement with Snowrock. If you have cleaned the blades and they still judder...it's a renewal job! Athough you might like to try cleaning the outside of the windscreen too with 'T cut'. Use it lightly all over, rubbing the screen in straight lines NOT circular motion. This will remove any trace of grease and rubbish that cause cause sticking of the blades.

Yep, its new blades time. Mine did this, changed them and now silky smooth. Blades should really be changed every 12 months or so anyway.

no offence, how long has it been on the docks? when did it roll off the line? whats the screen been cleaned with? what screenwash has been used:D

Do you use a car wash with rollers? if you do, do you switch off with the blade half way through a sweep and leave them vertical, or in their parked position, which can twist the arms and cause judder :)

Could all be playing a factor in it.

Car was built in August, delivered straight to dealer where I bought it last month:thumbup:

Only handwash the car, nothings been abused or damadged etc. Wipers judder only on slow setting, not fast and only in heavier rain, they dont judder to clear moisture:confused:

Ill try a good screen clean and clean the blades too... see if that helps.

Try cleaning the screen with a dash of malt vinegar or lemon juice & the wipe clean with a newspaper.;)
