ahy ideas what I should ask for it?

You won't get the money you invested in the ICE back - you're best stripping it and either keeping it or selling it separately.

Look on Glass' guide and similar, but I suspect you'd be looking at about

I would have to agree with Rob re: the ICE install. You'd be better off putting it back to standard and flogging it separately or install in your new car maybe??

As for price I would say around the

As said above, take out the toys and sell them seperately / keep them for the next car.

Most sensible buyers won't pay a premium for an ICE install. :)

Settle on the price you want, then add 500 notes and put it in Autotrader, as most people will try and knock you down 500 anyway ;)

If it's a trade in, then you will get your figure, depending on the target market. your ICE has zero value except to a private sale, at least in my mind all my mods and tinkering have zero extra value in a dealers eyes, possibly even a distraction.

I paid a little more than you did, 12 months ago for the limited version about the same miles, although a good few months newer on a 52. So your purchase price is about right. It should not of lost that much more. However there was a news article published about the psychology of the old style registration plates. Might be worth having a read.

7.5K is a ****take,I paid 10 for it only 6 months ago,I reckon

You said yourself the ICE stuff might be worth 1500 on eBay. In the car it's worth zip, nada, squat, naff all, nothing. I might buy the car off you, but I'd take all the fancy ICE out and sell it. Take it out if you have a guaranteed market for it elsewhere.

I know your car is very shiny - I've seen the pics you've posted, but cars have a market value based (in this country) primarily on their age. Mileage makes a difference, but not a big one. I'd say 8k tops for a Y reg sold privately.

Out of interest, what are you getting instead?

Jimmy,no need to be so sensitive, the comment wasn't aimed at you,but depreciation in general

Nick,I am not stupid enough to assume a nice layer of wax will increase the price, but nobody likes seeing a dirty car.I am possibly getting a Fabia RS,dunno yet.I am doing 50k a year and income tax on co cars is just silly,so I may trade down for the Fabia

as for the ICE worth nothing,I don't agree,I didnt pay for it,it came with the car,but I bought the car because of it,having a 9 yr old son,so it will at the very least help sell the car with to someone else with kids,or someone who likes loud music, like me:)

Elculo, mate, I wasn't implying you would think the wax made a difference, I was saying I know how you take care of it, but that its age will tell against it. The ICE will make a difference if there are two cars priced the same and one has it and the other doesn't, but nobody will actually pay extra for it, IMHO. Good luck, all the same.
