service indicator

Featured Replies

I read that my Fabia 1.2 needs a service every 10,000 miles. Its done just over 800 miles now and I was playing about and found the service indicator on the dash, its saying a service is due in 8600 miles which makes it 800 miles short.... any ideas why?

8600+800= 9400 miles which is approx 15,000 kms which apparently is what Eurpean Skoda's and VAG are serviced at.

In the UK it is 10,000 miles or 1year whichever is sooner but 1,000 miles or 1 month over that should be OK. If that makes any sense.

If I remember correctly then the handbook does say you're ok going 500 miles over to keep the warranty. It's a bit annoying having the "dong" going for the last 800 odd miles but for an extra few weeks driving without having to pay for the service I put up with it!

The service should show 500 miles before 0, and VAG seem to allow 500 over.
