Realistic waiting time for Fabia?

Featured Replies

Hi Everyone,

I am presently waiting for my brand new Fabia. I have never purchased a new car before. The dealership said there is a 12 week delivery time.

Does anyone (I probably should address those who have recently obtained their new Fabia) know what the realistic waiting time for receiving my car? Is it really going to take 12 weeks or there is a good chance I get it sooner? If yes, then how much sooner? Could it be more than 12 weeks at all? If it is more than 12 weeks am I entitled to some type of compensation at all? I look forwrd to your replies!

A lot of it depends on if you go for additional options / unusual colours / WHY. If you've ordered a 'usual' one, then Skoda will just allocate you one that was being made anyway. If you're after something specific, then your car will go to the back of the queue. I waited about three months for my Renault and even longer than that for my current car, although in both cases, this was to get the new reg (and to get the facelift lights etc. for my Fabia).

I doubt you'd be entitled to much compensation if it's late, unless you can prove you've suffered some kind of tangible loss as a result, and the delay is something under the dealer / Skoda's control. I don't know, though - the Honest John website is a good resource for consumer-type car advice...

Thank you ap0gee!

Mine is a simple order, absolutely basic with the only not standard feature being a spare tyre.
