Ocy Scout FL spare tyre size ?

Featured Replies

 Anybody know what size the tyre should be if you asked for it with the car ( £50 extra ) as mine is a 16" (17" fitted) with a smaller profile and only rated upto 50mls and 50 mph ? cheers - Stuart.

I would presume that's correct as my spare (57 vRS) is also smaller than the 18" wheels

My Scout (ex demo) came with a full size16" steel wheel spare fitted with 205/55/16 tyre. Although it has stickers all over it saying it is limited to 50 mph, this is only when used in conjunction with the 17" wheels that are fitted. It is actually a fully V rated tyre (149 mph). I guess you would pay a lot more than £50 if you wanted a 17" alloy as a spare. I have actually got a full set of 16" steels for my Scout now, which I will be fitting with some Avon Ice Tourers in the next month or so ready for winter :0)

I removed the tyres at the w/e and tried them in the spare hole, the 17" alloy fits very tightly and is then too tall by about 1", so I wonder why they put speed and distance limitations on the spare, I did have a nail in the rear tyre  so I pulled it out and it didn't leak  I then thought of other people saying you must be unlucky to have a flat  if it had gone down on the road without a spare I would have had to used the gunk and then forked out for a new tyre  thats progress ? cheers - Stuart.

16" spare is correct for all Octavia's.
