Hi Guys,

Only just found Briskoda and joined - I'm now on my third Octavia.

Have just had my first major problem as well.

Driving to work yesterday, without warning as I went to change gear, the clutch pedal went down to the floor and stayed there. Managed to get off the road, pulled it back up and it began to work - intermittently, with a loud grinding noise from time to time.

Took it into our local independent VAG garage who tell me that the cluch plate and pressure plate have "broken" and it will be £623 for repairs. OUCH!! :thumbdwn:

They can't say what went wrong. Any ideas?

How very unfortunate. Welcome to the site and hope you get it sorted okay.

Hello and welcome
