Skoda 130rs, vw engine conversion!

Well at the moment i've decided to keep the Favorit engine in their and doing some uprating to her. Was thinking something on the lines of a lumpy cam some head porting bigger valves, t-pistons, balancing the conrods and crank. I have a set of mikuni motorbike carbs that I will be fitting to it, making the manifold. This should give me some substantial power for the now, and will also learn how to drive the car properly till i get some more POWER (Clarkson style)

Regards and thankyou!

What about a pair of throttle bodies, either specific ones or modding some bike ones to fit?

PS. if you want to convert the car to semi trailling which would arguably give you more predictable handling eg Skoda Rapid 136 I have the parts to do this for sale.

Do you realise that the OP is in (or near) CZ? Unless you're planning a holiday there soon & were offering free delivery :D

Haha no no im not uprating her to the rapid axles. Ive purchased a set of replica 130rs/lr single wishbones that are pretty much bolt on! Im just looking for a nice set of ARC wheels at the moment. Ahh yes my plans are to make the carbs ive got a stand off set off throttle bodies saw it this summer in Germany on a hillclimb looked amazing!

Cheers

You might also look at wider wheels, and wider, lower profile tyres. Presuming the 110 to have run on 80series tyres, go up 1 inch on wheel width, 2 sizes on tyre width and down to 70 series (eg 165R13 is replaced with 185/70R13). This was a common modification on British swing axle rear cars back in the day to reduce a propensity to power oversteer.

And why in God's name would you want to REDUCE power oversteer? :rotz:

:cool:One of the many great things about rear engined Skodas is the ability to have a lot of fun without the need to go really fast [which is just as well as none are fast....also I'm not talking about back seat fun!!]:D

are you a back seat driver then dave??

....also I'm not talking about back seat fun!! :D

Some people might suggest that ...

[adenoids]Would you like to see my collection of old Skodas?[/adenoids]

would fail the Kristen Scott Thomas test of cool "chat-up" lines.

Personally I find that saying I'm a train-spotter is very effective ;)

;)I'm very much a front seat driver....I'm not very tall!:P

My collection of old crap.....erm I mean Skoda's is definately not a great thing to bring up while chatting up women, not that I'd know being a married man!;):D
