well, as I found out, you do it this way -

pull off the fan switch - it may take a bit of effort, so pliers wrapped in j-cloth are required. the small 12v1.2w bulb is set deep inside a green palstic tube, so that needs long-nose pliers & padding to remove (with care!) then insert new bulb and hey presto - let there be light !

Thank you for posting your results , looks like no-one had done this before

not a problem - if you have the knowledge, pass it forward !

Up with the old thread. Found the bulb and managed to break it in pieces, of which one of them ended in my thumb. Now I have rest of the bulb in its socket and almost impossible to reach. Opened four torx screws to get the fan/heater switch assembly out, but it didn't fit from the hole.

Probably need to remove the dashboard cover to get the assembly out. If You have any suggestions how to continue, they are more than welcome.

Have you tried tweezers or very thin long nose pliers? Even if the glass is smashed you may be able to grip the remains of the filament with them.

Failing that maybe a trip down the scrap yard?

Thanks for the tip! Have to look up pliers from office on monday, when vacation ends. Location for the bulb is quite tricky to see for me, since I'm not one of those most flexible persons...

Either that or then dashboard removal.
