when i asked jabba re bigger injectors etc they said lumpy tickover....so declined.

Out of interest, why/how would bigger injectors casue a lumpy tickover?

not sure myself...always been a fast petrol head...just having a bit fun with a diesel for a change.

You lose granularity/precision at the lower end of things. Getting more fuel in, more quickly means bigger holes that are less easy to control.

Which I think can be cured by mapping.

Not the lumpy tickover it can't!

Well, all I can is I never have had lumpy tickover running with / without R783 nozzles, and with/without a race cam. Will see what my rebuild is like first though before I comment any more :D

Hi Jason, Been reading all your planned upgrades about getting more fuel into the combustion chambers but I do wonder whether a 1900cc engine can burn all that fuel rapidly enough to produce the power you aspire to, I'm just thinking of diesel fuel not being as volatile as petrol and derv's not having the high rev range.

What do you all think?

Are you fitting up the car yourself Jason?

It'll smoke a dream............;)

It'll smoke a dream............;)

Thats what I'm thinking, Mine and Jason's smoked quite a bit with OE injectors.

I think fuel isn't the issue, but long term it is simply the ability for the engine to get in the air, and the ability in a 1.9 and on the usual engine cycle, to use as much air as possible with given fuel load. Once I have that 300bhp dyno-run, I'll be stopping anyway. I just want the new setup to be the best it can be really, but leaving the bottom end as stock (Always the potential for lightened crank, rods, boring out.... :D)

Maybe time for a few more cc's under the hood soon ;)

seem to recall Jason has an awesome (and no longer available to new customers) insurance policy which allowed pretty much any mods basically for free. except for increasing the displacement

And ironically Jason is one of the people that made them think it wasn't such a great idea to offer it any more

Here's warwick hunt's power graph..

Jason, which turbo model did you use for the 260 hp upgrade ?

What do you think about GT2260V for a 250 hp upgrade on a vRS?

275bhp and 440lb.ft? 225bhp/235lb.ft @ 5,200rpm give or take? Impressive.

Unless im reading it wrong?

thats correct sparky..spoke to jabba today.

2260v is meant to be good - The 2260vk is meant to be even better which is why one is sat waiting to go on my car, which has been converted to vacuum actuation from the stock electronic actuation

Impressive figures from the water/meth over "stock". Nice to see the dyno being done right up to the limiter as well. ;) I am looking forward to getting mine mapped properly once the turbo and everything is on. :)

we must be mad....:Yikes:

I'm gunning for over 300 without the silly gas on. [fingers crossed] but then with my extra head porting and race nozzles (and the same water injection system) I would hope to be.

FAO: Jabba - What mix of water/meth did you use, and have you experimented with ratios and found the perfect mix? I am currently running a single nozzle, I think 175ml/min too, but not sure. Was the "purple" one from memory. Might be a 225 ml/min.

it really hits the limiter hard too jason. A propper bar, bar, bar sound like a petrol instead of just a diesel govenour...

Makes the standard 130bhp look weedy lol

That was with the 175ml nozzle and 50/50 mix, this is with the new higher pressure pump however, so is probably similar flow to your 225 and the older pump.
