1.3mpi Tappets

Featured Replies

I'm gonna do the tappets on the Felicia tomorrow.

Been a while since I've owned one, but I remember 20 and 25 being important.

Is that Thou ? and are exhaust ones tighter?

Thanks!

Neil

It's metric (0.2 and 0.25), and IIRC the inlets are bigger clearances, but it's late and the manual is out in the garage.... it's on here somewhere.

:)Exhaust clearances are the largest.

I've found posts on here saying .25 inlet, .2 exhaust...

yeah the skoda engines dont follow the the norm of just about every other engine on earth, the inlets have bigger gap than the exhaust, i think it's something to do with the different expansion rates of the pushrods made of aluminium or steel

Cheers tom! not a bad fella for a "too many valves per cyl" boy:rofl:

for ref, the m20/30 series engines in my e30s all have clearances of .25 for all valves-easy job!

i thought the m30 engine had hydraulic lifters??
