When does the LED light up

Featured Replies

Yesterday I was re sealing my door carriers when I noticed the LED on the drivers door card was actually wired up and it has never worked, can any one tell me when should it be illuminated/ flashing. I wired it directly to a battery and it does work. Is it only for vehicles with an alarm?

Any help would be appreciated

Cheers

Mine flashes when the car is all locked up. But then the VRS has an alarm so it may just indicate its alarmed?

Just when the deadlocks are enabled I believe, or when you have locked the door once. 'Lock' it again, and deadlocks are disabled and the light should go out.

The red LED indicates the car has the deadlocks activated

Mrs Grrs SDI only had a factory fit immobiliser and remote central locking when we bought it.... But the door Led gave the visual impression that there was an alarm fitted too.

One break in later we opted for an aftermarket Toad alarm in addition to the fitted immobiliser. But the door LED worked as the previous poster said. Luckily it still does its job in addition to the aftermarket alarms own LED.

Tried locking with key and it still does not illuminate,

Is it possible that the function has been de activated via vagcom or similar?

Maybe the deadlocks aren't working? Or its a broken connection to the LED somewhere?

It could have been reconfigured for dead locking on two presses of the remote control/turns of the key.

Already tried 2 presses on remote and 2 turns of the key - still does not work

I have read it on here before a few times, cant find the original posts but it is a known fault, if I manage to find it in a search I'll post it up here.
