Well for all you Fabia owners out there I got the H&R springs fitted yesterday at AMD.

First of all, while bombing it back up to Brum, I noticed how steady the car seemed at speed. Very well palnted i thought. But i was a bit disappointed with the bounciness along the undulations of the motorway.

Did some more experimenting today and was certain the bounciness was being caused by the bump stops. AMD told me that these wouldnt need changing! The steering seemed a bit numb too.

So I carefully removed a small amount from the front bump stops and hey presto bounciness has almost gone! Steering better too.

Overall the ride is quite a bit firmer and the cornering is excellent.

Takes a bit of getting used to and the car seems a lot lower.

Looks good though and I need to do some more testing before i'm 100% convinced.

Thats the way I'm hoping to go soon. I'm going for the eibach pro-kit route though, I'm hoping there's not much difference between your springs and those.

BTW - Those alloys look the dogs parts! Bet they're a bit of a sod to clean, eh?

I wanna give mine a clean too. Won't have much of a chance before hand though. Will have to see if I can find a Jet wash on route! :p

I just went out in the rain and spent half an hour with cloth and hosepipe rubbing the alloys down. Now that's dedication for you! (or just plain stupidity)

The front wheels were totally BLACK inside with bloody brake dust. If you leave it too long, its a lot more stubborn to get off. I'll give the rest of the car a clean on Saturday when I'm with the relatives near Leicester. - I'm leaving tomorrow straight after work, but I'll check any final arrangements on the Saturday evening before bed!
