how do i go about stripping my boot trim as i don't want to snap anything im wanting the wiper out to get a grommet in place to smooth the back off.

has anybody got any guides with pics or what

cheers for the help

Broad trim tool and a piece of thin cardboard to protect the paintwork. Pry away one bottom corner and then pull, HARD.

Kitchen drawer is a good place:D (sshhhhh, don't tell SWMBO;))

I used a long handled screwdriver to prize it off. I was a bit rough and did scratch the paintwork, but it is covered so you don't normally see it. You could use a bit of touch-up paint if you are worried about rust. The cover is a bit of a pain to put back, but I managed.

wooden spatula would be ideal

like I said - kitchen drawer:thumbup:

damn straight, jam it right down as far as you can to the side of the lock and pull until it pops off...

be sure to keep an eye out for the metal clips as they fly off

I now have a spatula and butter knife in my tool box :D

thanks guys for the info, i will be getting at it on sunday:thumbup:

is it easy enough to do when the trim is off to dewiper?

cheers

I replaced the gearing and the jet nozzle tubing on mine as it had begin to seize... you'll have to remove the housing for it, which I think was bolted in 3-4 places. The housing cover had torx screws of some size but you probably don't need to open the housing at all.

Can't imagine it being too tricky, aslong as you have something to cover the hole it will leave :) but then i haven't done it!

Actually mate, heres what you're dealing with under the trim (with housing cover off)
