Hi folks

Now 500 miles and 5 days into Fabia vRS ownership and enjoying every mile - even learning to use the clutch pedal again after 58000miles in a smart!

I bought the car from Brown's in High Wycombe, excellent service and it took 5 1/2 weeks to arrive in black with Xenons and cruise - I'll right a report in the dealers bit later. Facelift model, no part-ex,

Glad you're happy with your new toy. Would have been deeply surprised if it wasn't the case though ;)

Regarding head lamp washers, they're "intermittent". You have to hold the stick back for about one second - probably the time it takes for the wipers to do a full swing and back - before they pop out and squirt the headlights. Squirting only lasts about half a second before the pop down. If you keep holding the stick, they'll eventually pop back out again a few seconds later, and so on and so forth.

Hope that makes sense. Must do a little "video" to demonstrate at some point. Wonderful/sad how many ways you can show you have xenon lights :D / :o

I don't know about the LCD/full info panel. I'm pretty sure you only get the full info panel with sat nav, but I don't know of anyone on this site who has that option. Never seem it myself.

btw, I bet you're one of the happiest people who has to do a 100 mile commute :D

Thanks for that Xavier

The washers work the first time you activate them but if you then leave them alone for a few minutes and try again they don't play, leave them alone for 5 minutes and they do - and so on. Not particularly fussed - empties the washer bottle too quickly

, just curious again!

Unfortunately the long commute is only Monday morning and Friday night - the rest of the time its a 5 mile queue of town traffic!

Cheers, Jerry

PS Can't believe just how good the Xenons are!

 Never noticed that. Will have to give it a try sometime

:D :D :D :D :D

Those who have them love 'em as much as those who don't hate 'em :( if that makes sense

Welcome Jerry, I've been enjoying my Fabia vRS for just over a year now and I've still got a smile on my face :)

No Xenons for me but i've added a few of my own 'options' to keep me happy.

BTW, it came on Michelins and the mirrors don't move together!

The mirrors aren't ment to move together. If you position the switch in the centre this is to activate the heated door mirrors.

With regards to the Digital Screen. The demo i test drove had sat-nav and also had a full Digital Screen in between the speedometer etc, but when my came it was only LCD. So you must be right it must be Fabia's with sat-nav that come with the digital screen.

I've noted your mods, I think I'll leave mine alone for a while.......!

Ivan

I know about the heated mirror position (still don't trust it to be only on when the rear screen is on!), I was referring to a previous thread where I think it was when R was selected, only the right hand mirror moved but when L was selected they both moved.

Another quick question, when you take your foot off the throttle and the transmission is no longer under load there seems to be quite a lot of 'diff whine'. It certainly isn't anywhere like a Land Rover but is noticeable in all gears and goes when the clutch pedal is depressed. Is this normal, gets quieter with age or not normal?

Thanks again for the info so far

Cheers, Jerry

Ah-ha! I had noticed the 'diff whine' as well and wondered about this. Perhaps it goes after a while - I've only had mine 6 days now.

My right and left mirrors work independantly R does the right one and L does the left one.

Also I haven't noticed any diff whining either.

Like the nice touches like the anti-chafe tape on the rear spoiler to the aerial from marking the paint.

That's because the antenna fouls on the vRS larger spoiler when you open the boot ;)
