My Dads Converted

Featured Replies

My dads been thinking of changing cars for a while now, and today he popped into Progress Skoda in Letchworth. The result of the visit is tomorrow he is likely to order a brand new Fabia to replace his 5 year old Suzuki Alto. He is still deciding between the small petrol engine most likely the 1 variant, or going for a Greenline TDi.

Great stuff - good to hear

Steve

Likewise, my father has just placed an order through DTD for a FL Octy II L&K Estate  after years with volvo's

The deal is done,

He didnt go new in the end, but he has just bought this.

Skoda Fabia 1.4 TDI PD DPF Greenline (80 BHP) 5-Dr Hatch

2009(09) Fabia Greenline in white, he picks it up next Thursday.

He got a good deal on the Alto, which at 5 years old we negotiated a P/ex of £1800 which means over the 5 years he had it its lost just over 3K in value (paid £5200 in October 2004, brand new)

Nice looking car

I am sure he will be happy with it

Is he going to lower it?

Is he going to lower it?

It is already 15mm lower than the standard Fabia, I dont think he will be going any lower. At 70 years old, he has enough problems getting in/out of my standard Octy, Maybe we can get a sneaky remap in, although when we took the test drive it seemed quiet nippy already.

Bless

Nice to hear that you ar looking after him :D

Nice car , and I am sure he will look after him

Sarah

Good for him, and a good price he got for the Alto too... the Fabia will feel limousine like after one of those:rofl:

Didn't fancy going for Lummox's then :D

Today he picked it up, and he really likes it. I would take some pictures but its to dark outside and at the moment the white car is kind of orange because of the street lamps. Looking at trip computer 2 which does not seem to have been reset since the car was new, the average mpg is showing as 55.5mpg over the 3.5K miles. He is prepared for the shock when it comes to filling the car up, his Alto was full with only £28 of petrol from very empty whereas the Fabia will be nearer to £40 or more.

Did they take the writing off the doors?? I take it its an Ex demo car (like mine is actually!)

Duncan,

Yes, no writing on the doors. They have also replaced 2 of the alloys which had minor damage when as you say it was used as a demo car. As it was a demo, it has some factory options including parking sensors which he finds handy.

Here are some pictures taken on Saturday at the seaside, Southwold to be precise. Most were done on a side street next to the Sole Bay Inn by Adnams brewery, and one at the seafront by the peir. The weather was really good, despite it being early November.
