A quick question: Does rainwater pour into the boot when you open the tailgate on a wet day? :splat:

Sadly, that is so familiar. :(

Does the Fabia have a boot? I thought it just had a shoebox behind the rear seats :D

A little bit yes.

Not as bad by any stretch and it falls higher, so the parcel shelf gets the bulk of it.

no thats a purse holder so all the girls who own them dont lose their handbags....

As opposed to teh rover which has a boot big enough for zimmerframe, walking stick + pipe and slippers :D

and will nick or kick your ass depending on which you pick on in preston...

Yup!! And also from the wet roof when the front windows are rolled down ... Bit of a design issue ???

Much of a design issue, I'd say! :D

If you get it just right you can soak the CD changer

If its been raining and I need to open the boot, I tend to lift it up a lttle way to get rid of most the water and then open it after that!

If its pouring I don't go out in it!!!

We are talking about the new Octavia here are we? If it still soaks the changer after all the problems with the old Octavia then it really is lousy design

I own a 'New' old Octy!!!!! :)

Not had that problem with the boot, but it happens with the front windows. Open them to clear the water off to se the mirrors and the water soaks the inside of the door.

My Honda Accord does that as well open the windows and get wet especially when it's raining ;)

But yes exactly as you describe

DOH. I mean that the water all runs off the roof and in through a conveniently placed piece of nothing.

Noticed that this morning, or my arm noticed it's damp shirt sleeve.

Only a iccle bit though.

It used to be really bad on my mk1 Octy vRS but I just gave it some quick rear wiper action to rid it of most water.

Don't know about my new mk2 yet though!

Yup, Mk2 octy does this. Seems to hold water along the bottom edge of the rear screen. Running a finger along there clears the water and I read a previous thread that suggested packing the space with a lenght of 3-4mm extruded plastic.

Could use clear seallant is you had a really steady hand!!

You wouldnt have thought it didnt rained anywhere else in the world especially for the czechs :finger:

This was one of the thing i was hoping would be different.........

Maybe the mk3 will be different? then again of course it wont
