Power and Torque readings from a LiquidGauge

Featured Replies

Guys,

Those you not regularly dipping into the group buy thread may be interested in the figures that the LiquidGauge is producing for my completely standard car. They say that VAG understate things! I'm seriously impressed with this bit of kit!

272lbft peak torque: http://briskoda.net/group-buys-promotions/liquid-gauge-fabia-mki-feeler/151228/5/#post1872655

157hp peak bhp (along with a series of (not very well done) dyno runs): http://briskoda.net/group-buys-promotions/liquid-gauge-fabia-mki-feeler/151228/6/#post1872663

And the main thread: http://briskoda.net/group-buys-promotions/liquid-gauge-fabia-mki-feeler/151228/

There still seems to be some interest in getting a group buy off the ground. I went ahead and bought early, but we need a minimum of ten interested people for a good price and to get a proper vent mount manufactured. Maybe these figures will get some others interested... Please post up in the group buy thread if you are!

Standard car? Either its not standard or Liquidgauge isnt that accurate. May car was producing 161bhp/275lbft torque after a conservative remap...

I believe it works it out on weight and then how fast you can go... so say your car is heavier than it actually is and it might out read? That was my understanding.

Perhaps a better review of how it got those figures will help proove how accurate they are

The "T" in the bottom left of the screens says it's taking the torque figures from the ECU and "doing something" to generate the hp figures. The manual doesn't reveal the details. If it was a petrol engine, it'd be basing its calculations on the MAF readings.

Afaik, the car isn't chipped. It is second hand, but I bought it when it was a few months old, and I'd be surprised if the previous owner had chipped it in that time. He certainly didn't say anything when I was buying it...

So it just based on torque readings from the ECU?

No good for anyone running silly torque then as the ECU cant read that high....
