What do i need?

Featured Replies

Im thinking of getting a Meguiars G220 DA Polisher. Looking at the info here Meguiar's G220 DA Polisher 'Sonus SFX' Kit I'm getting a bit confused. What kind of paint do i have soft, medium or hard? I would also have to use it on both my daughters cars a Corsa VXR arctic and a pug 207 Verve in Black metallic. Help please!

According to what PB told me, the Skoda paint falls Into the med paint hardness, but I've had to use a more aggresive combo on mine that was recomended for a hard paint of the BMW.

I could stand corrected, but the Vauxhall paint Is In the med hardness bracket & the Peugeot Is In the soft bracket.

The thing Is no cars of the same model are the same, so Its best to start off on the least aggresive combo & work up:thumbup:.

From experience, I would say VAG cars are medium / hard paint, Vauxhall is soft and Peugeot is medium.

I would suggest a G220 would be a decent start or a DAS6 (Google it) with a 6" polishing pad (Meguairs / Lake Country) and the Menzerna 250ml sample kit.

Rather than promote a seller, you can PM me if you wish.

Like I said I stand corrected.

here Is a guide I have found, http://www.polishedbliss.co.uk/acatalog/pdfs/painthardness.pdf

Interesting chart that, trouble is with a DA it's all a different kettle of fish compared to a Rotary, in terms of what polishes and pads you need to get above 95% correction..........:P
