Evenin' all. Need Octy II VRs advice

Featured Replies

Hello all

I'm looking at buying a Skoda Octavia VRs Diesel estate.

Can anyone advise me on what to look for? I want to take a look at this one at the weekend, as the price/mileage combination looks quite appealing...

This one

However, I wasn't aware that the early ones had the PDi engine. Is this 0.1 litres bigger than the (Gen 1) Leon Cupra PDi 150? Or is it a different engine? Any weaknesses to look for in this engine? And... Is it worthwhile Revotechnik or Superchipping it? I have an Accord Type-R, so i'd like to have similar performance (albeit introducing Mr Torque rather than Mr Powerband)...

Also, this one (small point) has keep fit rear windows. Were these standard, or is this a parallel import?

Thanks for your patience, and I appreciate any advice!

Ta:)

Hi

Personally I'd go for a very dark shade of silver - like black

It is a beggar to keep clean though :o

Sorry for the bump... But does anyone know where I can find a live link for that topic please? Had a quick search round but couldn't find it, only references to it in other threads! Thanks :)

Edit: Found this link, seems to be all good: http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/137484-vrs-buying-guide-please-read/page__p__1721499__hl__octavia%20guide__fromsearch__1entry1721499. I was looking in the MK2 forum, oops...
