I'm researching my next car and have found lots of useful info on here - thanks.

I normally buy a car at 2 or 3 years old and keep it until it starts getting too expensive to maintain, and I'm particularly interested in a 4x4 Octavia estate diesel - for reasons of muddy campsites, family and economy.

I was initially looking at the Subabru Legacy diesel, but unfortunately there is virtually no passenger leg room in the front due to it having a silly false floor with all the electronics behind it.

So I had another look around for a reliable 4wd estate - with legroom in the front - and came across the Octavia.

So, that's me - no doubt I'll be starting a 'how long does the Haldex system last' thread soon :-)
