Headlight Bulb replacement

Featured Replies

Help please, I'm confused. I know there has been other threads on this but I could do with some clarification. I've got a '57 plate RHD Roomster2 with non-cornering headlights. After reading other threads on Briskoda I decided to replace my H/L bulbs with Philips X-treme power & so contacted "POWERBULBS" to order them. They understanderbly asked which fitting I needed. I got the headlamp bulb out of the spare bulb kit that Skoda sold me & described it to the man at POWERBULBS. He said that I needed H4 ( 3 pins ) which I then ordered. They arrived & I went to fit them but of course, they are the wrong one's. It appears that I need H7's ( 2 pins ). My manual didn't help. It says you need H4 for "reflector" & H7 for "Module". When I called POWERBULB to get H7's instead he asked how many I needed because the H7 is a single filiment bulb & could only do one beam ( dipped or high ) whereas the H4 is a twin filiment bulb & could do both. I did contact the parts dept' at "Palmers" Skoda dealers in Watford but I can only say they were ruddy useless - when I asked about the bulbs he said " I couldn't tell you mate " Anyway, obviously I looked under my bonnet & I can only see one H/L bulb fitting! I would appreciate any input. Thanks.

Doesn't the roomster have a shutter to make the H7 work as dipped and main behind halogen projectors?

Yes.

If you have modules then you have h7's

the biggest issue i have with the roomster is the headlights, i have upgraded the bulbs to halfords xenon (50% brighter) these are better but now considering a HID upgrade

mine are the module lights and they seem very poor compared to the wifes fabia vrs

anyone got any experience of hid upgrades on the roomster with the h7 bulbs, looking at http://www.toys4cars.co.uk/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=2737_5719&products_id=36250

Yep I agree. The car is great but the projector headlights are really pathetic. I think HID's are the only thing that would make a significant difference.
