I was just supprised that the vRS didn't come with XENON (got it right this time) lights when there are others in the Octy range that do........

xactly thats what i mean. The vRS is ment to be special so why no xenon appart from WRC ???

Xenon lamps are availible on the vRS....as long as you live anywhere but the UK!! They are a cost option everywhere else but here , where they are not availible at all...except on the L&K.

Before I bought my L&K I couldn't understand what all the fuss was about Xenon lamps, but having had them I wouldn't want to go back to 'normal' halogens again. The spread of light is far better, although I've been flashed many a time by other drivers thinking I was on full beam.

My supplying dealer (Gordon Lamb, Chesterfield) said that they were a

I have looked at this option for my Seat Leon Cupra. On The SeatCupra.net website, this link comes out quite a lot

They do conversion kits for all car/bulb types. Please bear in mind, they may be illegal in the UK unless the vehicle is fitted with Headlamp wash, and automatic load level.

i think the site explains all this.

Welcome aboard Stu. nice link. Whats with the may be illigal if no headlamp washer fitted, i dont understand taht one??

ps depressing fact....there is only enough tungsten left in the world for 60 years production!!

Mr Peck did you try Butts, they have the xenon headlamps??

If i remember correctly, because of the extra brightness of xenon lamps, there must be a provision for the lamps to automaticaly adjust for height, such as when loaded or accelating. This is to stop them dazzleing other road users.

This is also the reason a cleaning system must be fitted, if xenon headlamps are dirty, they to can cause dazzleing to other users...and this may/should be looked at at MOT time...

Then again, ALL xenon headlamps seem to dazzle other users in my opinion, good for the driver, bad for other users of the road.

Stu

Sorry not a Skoda!!!
No need to apologise, Stu! Although you don't have to own a Skoda to be a member of Briskoda, having a car that uses a lot of parts from the same parts bin does mean that we share a common interest. :D

All the above is correct.

I had 'em on my L&K, I've got 'em on the Omega -I wouldn't be without 'em!
