1.4 16v engine cover

Featured Replies

Hi all. Nice place you have here.

Just got my Fab last week, need to have a goood look around the engine. Plugs, oil leaks etc.

How does the cover come off? do i just pull it off or is it screwed on.

Give it a good pull fella, will come off! Cheers Jason.

Ah right, I had given it a couple of experimental tugs, so more 'earty it is then..

Is a rubber pipe on the lef hand side(as you look at it), at the back as well, just pull that off first, will make it easier.

Then, as said, tug from the front lip upwards.

You need to pull off the crankcase breather hose first, rearmost drivers side corner, then give it a good pull (ooer) from the rear first is best. Once it's off you will see that there are 4 pegs on the engine that fit into 4 rubber grommets on the airbox. Give them a smidge of silicon grease and everything gets a bit more slippy......................at this point I could say that I'm a 16 year old virgin, but won't!!!!!!
