octavia hubs on felicia ?

Featured Replies

hi there,im thinking of puting running gear off an octavia on to a felicia the aim is to have disc brakes on the back beam and bigger brakes on the front i also want to fit the 1.8 20v non turbo in aswell ,any ideas if the hubs will fit ?:confused:i no the engine will fit but i no the brakes will not take hard driving and track use so the plan was 5 stud conversion .any advise would be greatful

i think you gunna struggle with this.

rear discs. you'll want mk2 golf GTI stub axles callipers and discs

as for the front. you'd be best off using 8/16 valve corrado front discs with a spacer ring and willwood callipers with a custom calliper holder.

all of the above is explained in more detail in other threads, just used the search bar.

the engine will fit but dont expect it to be easy, it WILL need a lot of modifications.

Oh give over Tom... it's easy to transplant a different engine into a Felly! :P

the 5 stud conversion thing is something i have been looking at though, it's not as difficult as you might think, most late vw stud axles (golf4, fabia, etc) will fit the back along with it's disc and caliper, but you will need to modify the brake pipe slightly to accept the flexy hose for the caliper, and the hand-brake cables need to be slightly re-routed and tweaked a bit.. on the front, the central part of the hub (the bit that the wheel bolts to) is a interference fit into a 40mm bearing bore on both the felicia 4 stud and octavia 5 stud, the calipers and carriers wont go onto the felicia hub carriers but it would be easy to make a bracket to make the octavia/golf calipers fit. the brake pipe unions for the flexy section on the front use the same fittings across most of the vag group cars so it's easy to swap out the hoses for ones that match the caliper. dont over-do it though on the size of the calipers otherwise there will be a mis-match with the relative size of the master cylinder

but it would be easy to make a bracket to make the octavia/golf calipers fit.

tryed this. its not possible because of the brace between the two bolt holes on the caliper.

yeah i've thought of that;) i was thinking something a little more audi-ish and having the claliper at the back rather than facing forwards
