Hi fabia 1.4 16v 5 yrs old lamba sensor has apparently failed. is it difficult to replace? garage has sheared part of it when trying to remove, leaving part embedded in manifold! quoting another £270 plus labour to replace manifold.............any observations gratefully excepted

unfortunately it happens sometimes, you'd be better off trying to find a manifold from a breakers yard, £25 max i'd say

If you have ever tried to get a lambda sensor out of a manifold you would understand the pain involved. They get cold welded in by combustion gases. Sometimes a new manifold is the only answer I'm afraid.
