Water pump Felicia 1.3 MPi

Featured Replies

Hi Briskodians, New thread, new problem... SSDD Last monday, my auxiliary belt just snapped... But not in the way you first imagine... The belt just seprated itself in half, making 2 belts. The first sign was the battery light switching ON, then then, the engine temp just rising till the roof! I stopped the engine, and had a look at it. The water pump is now misaligned with the engine wheel and the alternator. When I changed it last year, everything was aligned. What could lead the waterpump wheel to go on the "outside"..? I'm gonna flush the system and take it off the block to check... I'll keep you posted... ;)

So, I checked the work to be done to get the water pump off the engine. It sounds like I'll need to lift the engine up and hold it in place while I'll change the pump. Did anyone replace the pump before..? Is it a though job to do..?

Does your car have power assisted steering?

How is the waterpump pulley secured to the shaft?

@daverapid : Non power assisted steering

@KenONeill : I'll say, when I try to turn the pulley, the shaft turns at the same time.

Is the pulley screwed to the shaft..?

If so, I would say the pulley gets tighten to the shaft the other way... :?

The most annoying thing is the amount of things to do to get the pump off...

The pump holds the engine from the top. In the same time, it'll be a good timing to replace the mounting and brackets!

I'd like to do it myself, but with this weather... :/
