Blueconnect, retro fitment?

Featured Replies

I was just flicking through the online version of the accessories and found it for £240, but has anyone had this fitted to their car after they bought it? Also is it any good? Ta.

Dont buy it, its rubbish. There are far better and cheaper alternatives available.

The blue connect is a basic kit, thats designed to fit in the upper sunglasses holder in the roof and it has an uncanny knack of falling out everytime you close the door. You have to reach above your head to answer and make calls, has a poor quality speaker and the unit has no integration into the cars systems at all.

Oh well that's answered that question then, I won't be buying that one.

Cheers mannyo.

For the blue connect price you can retrofit the full oem kit if you dont mind doing it yourself. Or look at one of the Parrot offerings.

Approximately how much would it be to have the OEM stuff professionally retro-fitted, including all parts, labour & VAT?

Ta.

Fitting rates vary, you could try sending a PM to allytech as I know Unit 18 have done a few of these.

I looked at this over the weekend thinking my car was coming without BT

This site has a good thread about fitting OEM BT into the equivalent of the Bolero

It can be done but not sure of prices

Some euro prices here

Very sorry, totally my mistake

The retrofit OEM BT kit might be more expensive and complicated

The main ECU box is mounted under the drivers seat and needs a different aerial and from factory is only available with DSG

It's DIRE mate, have a look in the Roomster section for a review and pictures of it, Parsko had one fitted to his roomster. It's the same kit for the Octy.

Parrot MKi series are the way to go imho, the MKi 9000 (one without the display) was the best kit I have had for BT combined with iPhone, the THB Bury was the best kit I used for straight forward BT...... trust me, I tried a few on the vRoomster :)

PM: I've got a (as of tomorrow) DSG Elegance, so that shouldn't be a problem, I just need to get this December 25th twaddle out of the way & a good pay packet so that I can have it fitted, that's if the cost isn't prohibitive. If it's silly money then I'll forget about it altogether. I suspect I won't get much change (if any) out of £500.
