VRS Springs

Featured Replies

I have an 02 reg Fabia 1.9 tdi Elegance and have just bought a set of Eibach Pro-Sport springs, the question is ,will these fit my struts,as I've just read a thread in the for sale part saying they wont.

Any advice please.

They'll physically fit! The spring rate may be too great for your car though!

HI

Yes they will fit as has been said

But to be fair , if the car has done over 40k miles , the chances are that the shockers will be past their best

So in effect it can make the handling a bit poor :(

Sorry

I have the full STR.T kit on my Fabia 100PD comfort

Same car....been on for a while now and she has been great

I have done in the region of 100k miles on them :D

Thanks guys, for what I paid for the springs I can afford to buy some new struts,no rush to change them any reccomendations?

Do I need all 4 or just the fronts

it wont do any harm doing all 4 shockers, especially if you buy a proper uprated kit, when i fitted front shockers on my VRS, i bought all the parts to build up complete front units, it saved time when fitting, and i knew everything was spot on, on the front

If you've bought the Eibachs for the PD130 vRS though, even if you do fit new shocks you still have the problem that the springs have a different spring rate, so will work and react in a different way, given that the PD100 lump is lighter than the PD130.

Dude, theres barely any difference between the 2 engines weight wise in the real world, we weighed the 2 when doing ross s estate conversion : )

I thought the weight difference was more to do with the vRS having a six speed box instead of the other models five speed.

Well ,I'm only going to do the job once,so I may as well replace the struts as well,do I take it these springs will work ok with standard VRS struts.I want to keep the car 'almost' standard,Ive got away with the leather interior and vrs alloys ,but the good lady might have something about slamming the car,had that with a Corsa. As to the weight difference,it will be after Christmas!!!!!

I think the main differences with the 100PD and the vRS is that the vRS is lower OEM

So springs is what is the main differences are
