Featured Replies

Going to get the dash cup holder and the rear cupholder, probably not the slideout tray as i'm going to get the sat nav system fitted (aftermarket), any ideas on what other mods are worth doing?

Thanks!

Can sat nav be fitted as an aftermarket option? How much?

id thinh he means a new satnav hu and dvd player etc etc

Ah it was just the "aftermarket" bit that made me wonder...

There are quite a few to choose from aswell, all around

I would like a picture if you manage to install it...... ;)

The OEM satnav unit is not quite a perfect fit. The heater control surround actually has a curve to it so the VAG satnav unit will not sit flush as the unit is squared of at the base.

You also need the unit to match the green dials so any unit bought from ebay will probably have red leds as standard, so this will obviously need changing. The only item missing from a retrofit job will be the LCD navigation panel in between the speedo and rev counter.

Don't get me wrong I'd like satnav but I wasn't prepared to pay the

Very tempting! Anyone know what the fitting would actually involve? Is it just a case of putting it in and plugging in the wires from the old headunit, or does it require some VAG-COM intervention to activate?

I wouldnt recommend buying the eBay sat/nav if your a perfectionist like me :) :

Hi, What colour do the buttons light up, is it green/red or blue. I ask as i drive a Skoda with green lights. Also from seeing the SAT/NAV in another Skoda the main screen when it is turned on is the Skoda symbal, what symbol does this start up with?

Hi James,

If you have any more questions just let me know.

Tom

Not at all saying the units are bad and dont buy from him, just saying i'd prefer green LED's and the Skoda symbal at start up

HTH for anyone

There are other nav systems available, and you can alter the VAG logo at the start to the Skoda one, it's just a case of getting the memory flashed and reflashed from a Skoda dealer (not sure of cost but probably not too much) & the likelyhood is that the VAG logo which appears on the start maybe from the CD, so if you use the Skoda CD, you'll probably get a Skoda logo instead (sorry if I have made this pointlessly awkward to understand). With regards to the instrument panel in the dash, I would leave this well alone & the arial can be bought for

I have fitted cruise control, parking sensors and the Superb Cat vision interior light. None of these ware too difficult or expensive and they do make it feel a little more 'special'. I am going to investigate an autodipping mirror next and then see if I can get a centre armrest for the front.

Has anyone retrofitted one of these armrests and have the official parts number etc?

Fabia armrests were discussed here. I removed mine because it wasn't long enough.
