FL VRS Sidelights

Featured Replies

My first post, but have been regularly reviewing this forum in excited anticipation of my new FL VRS (ordered 14th Sept, received 11th December.. race blue CR TDI, rear sensors / spare wheel / MDI).

I have a question about the lights, I hope someone can help:

The LED DRLs seem to be on in all conditions, but switching between no lights and sidelights makes no difference ... the DRLs are the only lights on.

Is this correct, or has my car been configured wrong? Surely some other lights should come on when you turn the sidelights on?

I didn't know about Maxidot when I ordered, so I can't use this to change any settings .. doh!

When you switch between 'no lights' and 'side lights' the DRLs dim and the tail lights, interior lights, etc. come on.

The conventional sidelights, that is the small bulb in the headlight unit, do not work at all on a FL vRS.

Griffo is spot on with his reply.

Maybe someone with VCDS could alter the DRLs being permanently on if you so desired.

I'd personally leave it with them on - or think about having a maxidot retro fitted so you can tinker to your hearts desire!

Just check to make sure it's possible in the FL before you get one though

Thanks for your help ... I will check it out tonight. I didn't think to check the rear lights!

Love the car by the way ... fantastic quality.

Whereas I have the opposite ! my LED DRL's don't come on until the light switch is on 'side lights' ! How do I get these on with just the ignition on and daylight driving ?

Picked mine up yesterday, Candy white Vrs, ordered late Sept. Well pleased especially the Tdi CR engine.........

Thanks

If you have maxidot it can be set up in there! DRL's are actually brighter than the sidelights. ie the DRL's dim if set to sidelights

The dealer will sort it out as they should be on by default.

Thanks again guys. I checked it out tonight and can confirm that when switching from 'no lights' to 'side lights' the DRLs dim, the dash illuminates and the rear loights come on.

This is how it was supplied by Skoda (no maxidot).

The same with me. My salesman said that this does not work in RS .
