Did a warning triangle come with yours?

As the title says really: was there a warning triangle in the boot somewhere when you got yours?

Hi Weaver,

No, fortunately I have one from a previous vehicle. I may be wrong, but I don't think they are compulsory in the UK, nor are luminous vests, as they are in France.

Your dead right. Got my First Aid Kit and Triangle when serving in Germany. ;)

As the warning triangle is not a requirement here in the UK, its not provided with any new cars, same with the first aid kit. Only in europe where in some countries both are required are they provided.

You can get both from Halfords cheaply, and the small triangle they sell fits nicely in the OEM space for the triangle.

Both our Audi's came with the triangle and first aid kit, but the Golf had neither :'(

Looking at demo Yetis I do remember not seeing a triangle or first aid kit.

Also the Audi and Golf came with the oil pouch which contains a litre of engine oil. Do Skodas have these?

If you look at 1:32 here

it shows the triangle stored "beneath" the rear door.

Is this for vehicles without the spare ?

Hi all,

My Monster came with a litre of Castrol oil in a resealable plastic bag (there was one in the dealer demo too), a basic cargo net and a meagre tool kit but as previously mentioned no first aid etc..

There is provision for a triangle on the back panel but it's not accessible with the spare fitted, so they have created a slot in the removable polystyrene box on the right hand side.

Unfortunately my 'BMW' warning triangle is a bit to long, so is living in the left side instead, along with a couple of 'vis vests' and a £3.99 spare bulb kit from the AA :), a torch, collapsible spade plus gloves and a rain mack. The (out of date, must get that changed) first aid box is on the floor under the passenger seat, which the back of the factory fit floor mat has so far kept it in place.

edit oh forgot to mention a litre of water as well.

Yes carry far to much kit but like the scouts 'be prepared'.

Regards,

TP

Thanks all.

On the 'basic tool kit' point, the manual talks about a little device for getting the covers off the wheel nuts - sort of like a long pair of tweezers.

Anyone in the UK get one of those, or are they mainland Europe only as well?

I bought the Skoda triangle as an extra with the mats etc - it was only a tenner. As The Plumber said, with the spare wheel in place, the triangle doesn't fit at the back of the boot but does fit in a recess in the off-side under floor storage box (picture in the picture thread).

Thanks all.

Do you mean one of these:

That looks just the thing. Was it in the same compartment as the wheel nut key?

Yes stored at the front of the tool box:

Still another month at least until I get my car...

But does the Elegance come with locking wheel nuts then ?

I haven't taken my wheel bolt 'covers' off but there is a locking wheel nut 'key' in the tool kit so I presume so!

Even the 'S' gets locking wheel nuts - the fact they are listed in the options is there to confuse! (in my opinion etc.)

Thanks for the pics Plumber, not spotted one so far but now I know what it looks like I'll have another root around.

Have you worked out what the next tool down is for? The third one has screw driver ends, but what's the one in the middle of the three?

Hi weaver,

the clamp (ring with a hook end) is for pulling hub/centre-caps off. The ring is designed for the wheel key (wrench) to slide though so you can place the hook behind the wheel cover then leaver against the tyre to pull the cover off if that makes sense. Very poorly described with no pictures in the handbook.

The TORX end of the screwdriver is for removing the rear light retaining screws so you can replace bulbs (no access from inside, have to remove light unit).

The previously mentioned plastic clip (tweezers) and the two mentioned here are the only tools included with mine besides the jack, wheel key and tow eye.

Excellent, thank you - all clear now.

Just had another look in the boot and no sign of the plastic tweezers.
