Here are some VW's and AUDI's rarely seen now. Just a few of the cars ive owned over 40 years in a VW bonkers family.

Why are they allowing Skoda to make the best VW's now?!.

The white car is a 1600 TL Fastback(1967)

The old blue one with the front wings in primer is a 1500 Notchback (1962). I converted this one to 1600cc on original bottom end, it was a loose one that seemed to have a natural cruising gate of 90mph it had no trouble getting there either.

The third car is a 411LE saloon (1971) VW's first Monocoque model with a very short stroke (66mm) 1700cc Bosch L Jetronic fuel injected rear engine which i converted to 1911cc. You could overtake several cars at a time using just 2nd gear , the engine was so unburstable. With no servo and beetle front disc brakes stopping was another issue.

The blue Audi was my first water cooled car, a 200 Turbo 170BHP from 2.1 litre's , really fast but very juicy 0 - 60 7.5 sec's and 135mph. it was really a Quattro with two wheel drive detuned from 200 BHP. my mates 3 litre BMW couldnt get near it. This performance with fully loaded luxuries like electric / heated seats , air con, sunroof etc. Imagine that when the car was introduced in 1979.

My [late] grandad used to have a 1970 411LE, in a lighter blue than yours and we all loved it! Must be very rare these days, not seen one for years.

My 411 was sky blue when i bought it with the front stoved in but as i was on a shoestring at the the time i used the darker blue you see here after the repair was done.

My current car is an Octavia 2 vrs Tdi combi which i hope to change for a 140 tdi 4x4 and bring up to vrs spec as a sort of modern day rallye. The facelift version has latest Haldex system . Cant remember if Rallye was permanant four wheel drive.

I'd love a Rallye!

A Rallye is permanent 4WD with a viscous coupling to the rear.
