A Dealer who's interested ?

Featured Replies

Over the last two months, I've spoken to a number of dealers in the North about buying a Yeti, but have not felt really comfortable with any of them.

Bit too much of the "Let's see how much money we can make" instead of "How can we sort the best spec and deal for this customer."

I don't know whether it's because I'm trading a big 4 x 4, or because Yetis are too easy to sell, but I don't feel particularly well served at the moment.

Anyone like to recommend a dealer in the North who they felt really wanted to get the best deal for their customer ?

I'd recommend contacting James at Allams. Whilst Epsom isn't exactly 'up North' I found Allams excellent to deal with (and they're not my 'local' by any means).

It would also mean you get a chance to run the Yeti in on the way home as well!

Thanks for that - I'll see if there are any other offers before committing myself to a 300 mile excusion ! Not that I'm bothered about the journey - just want to feel that I'm getting a decent service.

Sell the gas guzzler private and go with DtD. I doubt you will find any dealer to offer a discount and take in a 4X4 at a price you are willing to accept. (edit just read your profile, is it the Octy 4X4 you are talking about? the second point still holds true though :))....

Also I get the impression talking to dealers that their margins have been squeezed by Skoda in offering the VAT free deal on most models.

Simpson's in Preston

Not bought from them, but they've gratioucly sorted out another dealers ****-up, without causing any disruption to myself. Would recommend that level of service to anyone!

I regret to say that I have had a very poor experience with a certain Skoda dealer in terms of product knowledge (virtually nil) lack of help after the money was taken and unfulfilled promises. I am at present writing to the Managing Director of the dealership to make a formal complaint. I shall be looking for another northern dealer in the future. All very disappointing!

I am in a similar boat albeit in the midlands. I will hopefully order a new Yeti in the coming days but have been put off my nearest dealership by the attitude of the salesman. Will post my buying experiences shortly..........
