Well, I haven't actually picked up my first Octavia yet (2wks to go), but having read all the specs before ordering mine here goes...

4x4 as an option on the vRS (should be possible as they make a yeti 4x4 with the CR 170 engine)

DSG as an option on the 4x4 and scout

4x4 lock for the scout, plus the off road button thingy off the yeti (and a low range box would be good, but unlikely to happen!)

folding mirrors and steering wheel controls as standard on the higher spec models (still not worked out why I could only have steering wheel controls on my vRS if I had DSG, whereas other models have it as a relatively cheap option)

Radar cruise control

Heated front windscreen would be nice in this cold weather, save scraping the ice off

lower insurance groups on the vRS models (I may be 33 with years of no claims, but I have still been quoted some silly prices for insurance on my new vRS). But on the other hand the audi 3.0tdi engine would be fun in a 4x4 vRS, but unlikely to be a lower insurance group :p

As for day to day niggles that could be improved, will know more when I've had the car for a few months!

All diesel engines will be CR on the Octavia 2 before the 3 comes along, so that's one to tick off the list.

KESSY (keyless entry) is already on the Superb Combi so is a strong possibility.

Next Octavia should have more "avant garde" styling apparantly.

would like to have more colors to choose from. More chrome bits and a more up to date side profile.

Better build material for interior. Parts from the VW R32 seats and superb seats, LED tails and superb two stage tailgates.

You press and hold the button for 5 secs? I just push in for a fraction of a second and it switches off. Is your radio different? :no:

You could also press the Phone button - this mutes the system and also pauses any cd or MP3 playing.

and vRS stamped in the headlight where it says Octavia on the FL......

Why? I love my 7-spd DSG (1,8 TSi)

It was so indecisive - couldn't make up its mind whether to be in 6 or 7 and the noise it made so decided I didn't like it. I like my 6 speed DSG though.

I'd like those steering column stalks off the Corsa---the ones that you flick up or down or in or out and the stalk returns to a centralized position.

And small bright yellow lamps in the edge of the rear view mirrors so you can be sure you are indicating.

And front turn lamps as well.
