Steel wheels for winter tyres

Featured Replies

I'm seriously thinking of getting some steel wheels to fit winter tyres on my 2.0TDI Octy.

Will any 16 inch steel wheels of the same width from the VAG/Audi group be OK ?

Also would there be any problems going 195 rather than 205 ?

Tyres I'm looking at are Nokian WR G2.

Thanks in anticipation

Roland.

I also want Winter Tyres for my Octy 2.0 TDI L&K having got stuck again on sloppy snow. I have 225/45 on ZR17 tyres. Any help appreciated. Thanks

www.mytyres.co.uk sell sets of steel wheels fitted with winter tyres. Balanced and ready to fit straight on.

no - you need to find something with the same (or similar) offset. If you do a search on offset (et) you'll find lots of info on this forum. there are lots of other vag vehicles with 5x112 pcd but not many with the correct offset. if the offset is wrong you may get rubbing.

e.g. golf mk5 et 50 would be fine but many audis are et 35 which may give rubbing or affect the handling.

Just get the info from your spare wheel:

The wheel (steel) is a 6.5J x 16, offset (ET) is 50, the PCD is 5 x 112 and the part number of the wheel is 1K0 601 027A. This was taken from my 56 plate Octy vRS.

Then use 205/55 R16 tyres.
