No flash when locking car by remote

Featured Replies

As title really! All doors, boot and bonnet are closed (checked and re-checked)

I've read the vehicle handbook and searched the forum but can't find anything that might give me an idea of what could be wrong apart from the doors not being fully closed.

When I open the car the hazards flash as normal and while driving the indicators work fine, it literally is just when I lock it the buggers don't flash!

This has only started in the last day or two and all I've done is top up the screenwash, which makes you think that the bonnet wouldn't be closed properly but it is!

Any suggestions folks?

Thanks in advance

This happened to me a couple of months back and I was quite confused by it!

In the end I just reopened all the doors, boot and bonnet and closed them again and it worked for me, don't know if that's worth a try just to make doubly sure?

[not the most technical of answers I know  ]

Cheers for the reply, I tried that last night and it made no difference unfortunately! It was dark when I got in from work yesterday as I was wanting to have a look at the bonnet switch to see if that had anything to do with it.

To add insult to injury, driving to work today and the intermittent wiper function was non-existent but I'm hoping that maybe just a fuse that needs replacing or a maybe even a new relay! All the other wiper functions are fine and washers are working too so that's something else to look at. I'm even starting to think that the weather is to blame!

I must admit to giving serious consideration to getting rid of my beloved Vrs before anything major starts to go!
