New Skoda Octavia VRS Owner

Featured Replies

Hi All

I am new to the site, and thought Id go for it an acquire an octavia vrs. I am 24 and I have been driving a golf gti 20vT, and as you can imagine, my mates are slating me for getting a skoda, however I think I can make a difference with it as not many around where I live and wanted to be different.

Spec on the car is quite decent, its mapped etc runing around 220bhp with 275lb torque.

Just after some advice, I want to make it a proper sleeper/stealth look as its black as well. Plans are to lower it about 50mm on coilovers, debadge it completely, fit milotec front grills, and maybe the standard skoda spider wheels in black, or RS4s or RS6s 18s in black.

Anyone recommend any good coilovers out there, sites etc, my budget is around £500.00-£550.00.

cheers

My mates took the **** when I got mine until I took them out in it, they soon shut up.

lol thats what i indeed to do pal, shut them all up for sure...

guna do sum work on it in time for the summer, just want to buy the right stuff, and not rubb1sh

The wheels on mine have been painted grey they look much better IMO. I'm after a remap, an exhaust and some window tints, apart from that I'm going to leave it stock.

Good choice in car mate.

50 mm is a lot to lower these cars and will give bad handling. Mine is around 40mm and I get fed up with not being able to go over sleeping policemen and using multi story car parks

I have most if not all the mods you intend to do and very happy with mine. If you want to go low coilovers is your route, Weitec, KW, Spax and the cheaper AP coilovers are all options to you. I have Weitec Hicon GT's on mine like a lot of folks on here, and can't fault them.

Here is a pic of the front end with Milotec grills before I modded the bumper and after.

whats the spec on the car ??

i take it running that power it has the normal

front mount

full exhaust system etc etc on it ...

ejoy the forum and enjoy the car as for stealth debadge it and thats all you need to do people think that these cars are slow lol

The spec on the car is as mine, as it would've been my car he was taking lol.

But i decided against the deal, so it's still with me emoticon-0102-bigsmile.gif

Oh, and not quite those figures... 216bhp i think the graph has emoticon-0102-bigsmile.gif

LCR splitter is a must IMO and the Milotec grills are good too.

thats the height I set it at first, looked ace but was not very practical as I couldnt get over the speed humps on camp lol

also found the ride was a bit choppy, now its a tad higher its sooooo much nicer.

Look forward to seeing you thursday Trez :)

I'm throwing in a set of lower milotec grills for Trez anyway.

I've got an LCR splitter here, but it was on my Fabia, so probably not fit for the Octavia now.

yeh site seems really kool, hope all is well with the octi, aint guna do a lot to it.

just going to put sum gloss black 18s rs6s on it, debage it, and milotec it. might do the intercooler mod as well at front. going to do it all after winter. will look into collies, but its got Koni FSD shocks, and H&R springs -20mm, so think 18s will fill arches better and good alround

Edited by trez

I think 18s suit the Octy - and black ones will look great on a black car - IMHO :D

lol no probs dude lol.

question for other members:

Has anyone fitted xenon kit on the octi? or uprated bulbs for the front? i have very poor eyesite, and at night struggle a little with halogens, so anyone know a suitable upgrade?

I'm running Philips X-Treme at the moment and they're a huge difference over boggo bulbs - very clean light without being too blue, and a godsend on the country roads. You can get a set for about £24 with free sidelights too from various online places; I went to powerbulbs and got them a couple of days later.

Looks like I will be PMing you now instead of Johnny ( but I will still keep in touch mate ;) ). I am the previous possessive owner to Johnny and fitted the FSD's, H&R springs, predator pads, Brembo discs, Remap and the fmic. I can't wait for the pics, it has needed a good machine polish for the past three years but I never had one, hope you do :) .

If you need any help on the car feel free to get in touch, I know the car like the back of my hand lol.

if you want stealth, dont touch the damn thing externally, leave it standard!
