Hi all my first post although i have been reading all the yeti posts on the forums since i ordered my 1.2tsi se with black magic paint in october. Cannot beleve how well it pulls i found some clear road between the packed ice today so i tested the power [very happy]. Thanks to all of you for the info on the yeti its kept me going throught the long wait

Yes, I drove the 1.2 TSI today as well. Found it hard to believe that a 1.2, albeit one with a turbo, can pull such a chunky car with so much verve. Part of the reason why I ordered one.....

Hi shrub

what spec and colour have you ordered.

You are lucky to test the car you ordered the dealer only had a 1.8tsi in october so i had to trust the reviews on the internet as he said it would be december before he had a 1.2tsi to try but after a long night on the internet i ordered one the dealer then re spect his demostrater order to my spec so it would arrive in december but it got snowed in at the docks in germany on the 23.12.09 but it was here on the 4.1.10 but then snowed in at the dealers till the 7.1.10 so glad to see it. It handels the snow and ice much better than my old mg zr you will love it hope the wait is not to long

I've ordered 1.2 TSI version.... will be delivered by mid Feb.

I'm currently driving Roomster 1.6 16V 105 bhp, and wonder how new 1.2 is compared to this one? I understand that is has more torque, must wondering whether it will feel underpowered compared to old VW 1.6?

I also have a Roomster 1.6 and will consider the same change as you in a years time.

I'm not worried at all - both have the same power but the Yeti's 1.2 delivers more torque, lower down, and accross a wider rev range. I am sure it will be much better, even though the Yeti is heavier.

Certainly hope so, as there is no precise real road tests' data on 1.2 TSI performance, consumption, etc.

Hi wakev,

I have ordered a a Corrida Red S with factory fit ESP, spare wheel and carpet mats. It was a real bonus to have a drive in the 1.2 first although I would probably have ordered one whatever engine had been available to try. The drive really impressed me, not just the engine but how secure the Yeti felt on the road in these less than ideal conditions, whilst the weighting of the controls made it very easy to drive smoothly. Just got to wait until the end of March nowemoticon-0120-doh.gif

Well I half considered a 1.2TSI new Polo during my new car decision making and if the Polo is anything to go by then we won't be disappointed. The old 1.6 Polo was slower and thirstier than the new 1.2 and of course there is a bit of turbo shove to make things that little bit more interesting.

Thanx a lot for sharing!!!

Hi to anyone thinking of a 1.2tsi

I had a mg zr 1.4 16 valve that went well but the 1.2tsi will run rings around it.

The snow cleared from the main road today so i put my 1.2tsi to the test. It really surprised me more like a 1.8 non turbo even in a car of this size.

I have only done 60 miles in it but giving me 35- 40 mpg this will go up as it loosens up more you will not regret ordering one at all.

As for black magic paint it looks great just use lots of water when you wash it i will put a paint sealer on when the weather warms up a bit plus a layer of mer car wax my son used them on a black mini and the shine was fantastic it looked so deep so the yeti will get the same

Hi shrub

I agree when you drive a yeti you just feel in control and it will do all you ask with no roll or feeling of letting go on the corners asr works well in the snow to get and keep you moving.

The build quality is good to everything finished to a high standard.

Glad your enjoying the Monster experience, keep wanting to try this 1.2TSI as right from the off testers have sung it's praises. Not sure if you have seen it but there's a short film about the design of the engine.

Hi Plumber

Thanks for the welcome and the link very interesting.

Looking at the vidio it look like it has a chain drive to the cam insted of a belt.

Hi tom

I will use a carplan wounder glaze paintwork sealer it lasts for 12 months. Then a layer of mer wax every month its well worth the effort
