Will the Yeti be getting the 1.6 CR diesel?

Featured Replies

Well,

Cos with a couple of teenagers , surely the insurance would be cheaper than for the 2.0 CR

Which appears to be the only diesel available.

seems odd with a piddling little 1.2 petrol, that there is not a smaller diesel?

cheers

Only speculation, the build forecast provided by ANTS last year runs until end of June with just the current engine line-up.

Insurance groups for the Yeti are some of the lowest for this size and class of vehicle

1.2TSI - 3E

2.0 TDI 110 - 4E

Note: 1.2TSI performs better than the old 1.6 16v

The 2.0 CR 110 seemed to be an interim engine in the Mk6 Golf, as it is now being replaced by the slightly less powerful but more economical 1.6 CR. However I notice that in theYeti the 4x4 110 develops 30 Nm more torque than the 2wd version and it may be that the 1.6 CR is unsuited to 4x4 use (I'm only speculating)
