fabia new engines?

Featured Replies

Does anyone know if there are any plans to put the 2.0 140bhp Diesel in the fabia vrs?

Is this power unit available in the other same platform cars from VAG (Polo and Ibiza) ?

I doubt it , and there wouldn't seem to be much point trying to fit a bigger engine in there for just an extra 10bhp (if that).

If they were going to improve the Furby VRS it would be much more likely to get the 150 or 160 bhp versions of the 1.9tdi

Isn't the 140 engine only bigger so that it is EuroIV compliance, coz it only outputs the same 0-60 , mpg etc as the current engine.

A guy I work with has an A4 with this engine in it.

Yeah basically the only reason for the 16v PD is emissions.

As the Fabia doesnt need to be Euro1V compliant atm there isnt much need. The engine itself isnt any bigger, its basically the same bottom end witha 16v head.

OK thanks for the replies,

I'm fancying a fabia vrs but am thinking they must be putting in the 140bhp engine soon to make it euro IV compiant so did'nt know whether to hold off a while.

So, all you vrs owners can recommend the vrs then

yes defo, but why bother holding off , just by then car now and get it remapped, then you will have a PD180 engine :-)
