That damn door carrier/panel!

Featured Replies

Hey, i am desperatly trying to get the rear interior door trim /panel off my 03 fabia and am almost there.

I have the panel flapping with all screws and cl;ips out but i can not free it at the top! I have tired a good old tug upwards as described on some posts, but am nervous about really busting it. Can anyone describe in more detail than 'just pull it up' , how to do this last bit, any guidance much appreciated

It definately just lifts off, when I fixed my leaking carrier seals the door card was stuck fast so in the end I just propped the whole thing up on the seat as a work around.

I remember when resealing my doors that they really didn't want to come loose. In the end I gave in and just repaired it from below... although depending on what you're doing this may not be an option.

Removed them on other cars and they've been fine!

this might sound bit daft m8 but u separated the window from the carrier? coz they normally come off pretty easy once everythin is disconected?

lol ignore that got confused. the pannels normally sit quite tight along the top sometimes if u get a lond screwdriver or somethin behind the pannel at the top and push it up that way.

They are quite a job to separate at the top, but once you have got it started it's easier. You could try a length of wood between the panel and the door (at one end of the panel) and give it a tap with a hammer to get it started, also a platic scraper slid along between the panel and the inner window scraper seal sometimes frees them a bit.
