Fog lamp

Featured Replies

What with the completely **** weather we're having now I thought I would hook up the left rear fog lamp. So I goes down to Halfords and gets meself some suitable cable/wire and some connectors (I got females spades).

Got home, removed the trim and lamps and.........

.......I couldn't work out how to do it!

No connector to connect to (I suppose it was a little optimistic to expect that it would be similar to the MK2 Golf arrangement) and I didn't know which pin to connect from on the driver's side fog lamp.

So does anyone have an idea how to do it?

When I last looked on my estate you could see which wire went to which bulb, you'll need some of those blue scotchlocks to tap into the wire. From memory the loom on the o/s has one more wire than the n/s. Be careful you don't tap into the indicator wires which will be different colours each side, a bit of trail & error might be needed, but the lens and the holder are definitely there on the n/s. You should only need to tap into one wire as the earth should already be there on the n/s circuit board.

Good luck, but I can't promise anything as I've not got the Hatchback version!

Thanks 4X4!

When I have sometime I'll have another go.

If I manage to sort it I'll put the solution on the FAQ page.

Thanks again.

Adrian.
