  • I take it the feed is just for the light? with no electric will the gauge still work? Can you get a single pod to go bellow the stereo? I can only find a 3 pod version.

Damn work gets in the way of car modding I was working from home today and itching to nip down to the garage to finish off my sub box.

  • how can i get it to have constant power? what soo that means i have to have it all even wen the car is turn off?

Take the gauge and a short piece of hose and connect it under the bonnet.

Start the car and you should see a vacuum on idle.

At least then you know the gauge is working.

ok have u got any pictures or anything of how u fited yours if u have got 1 fited??

I can put a pic up later, I am at work at the moment.

I have cut into the line going to the fuel pressure regulator and fitted a T piece.

I then drilled a hole in the bulkhead behind the glovebox, the black circle to the right of the engine bay.

I fitted a grommet and fed the pipe through, along the dash and up the A pillar.

ok its jus doing my head in i jus want it to work wer did u get ur pillar mount is it a 1 for the skoda vrs ??

I haven't got a pillar pod, mine sits on top of the dash.

do u know any where u can a pillar mount pod from for a skoda?

Nope, and that was the main problem for me.

Sivrs has smoothed one into his existing pillar cover but I just wanted something simple (and it was available from westallc's breakers) :giggle:

I don't think anyone makes one, you would need to make one yourself possibly out of a Golf or Leon A-pillar pod.

You can get these:

or if you don't want to use up your air vent you can fit a Newsouth column pod which goes on top of the steering column, or fit the boost gauge into the cubby hole under the stereo.

:D im going to try my best to get this gauge working tonite lol because they do look smart do u know any good websites that sell skoda vrs stuff apart from ebay lol

Use the switched live on the light switch :)

The red/black wire is the switched live.

To remove the headlight switch, with the switch in the "OFF" position, push in on the switch until you feel some resistance, and then, with the switch still pushed in, turn it clockwise, and pull it out.

does that mean it will only come on whens my lights are on or does it mean it wnt light up till my lights are on? i wish 1 of you would be able to fit it 4 me :D

Switched live comes on when the ignition is on.

I'd pop over but it's a bit far for me :D

I didn't do it on the switched live, I did it on the live that is only live when the lights are on, Blue/Grey I think (I can check later)

I didn't want it on all the time.

cool thanks  all ive gota do now is wait till 6 oclock tonite be4 i can have a play around with it cuz im stuck at work ...

i know tell me about it it sucks lol i wired my gauge up to the ignition so wen i turn on my ignition is comes on that wouldnt stop it from working wouls it?

Won't stop it working, the power is only for illumination.

ok thanks its got to be something under the bonnet then maybe the t piece pipe has poped off or something

If the T piece is popped I think you would know about by now.

It's off the FPR so I'm sure that would cause a running issue,

I may be wrong though
