Nitrogen?

Featured Replies

Is it worth paying the extra to have your tyres filled with Nitrogen, instead of just plain old air?

Ta.

I'm not convinced by this nitrogen lark. Last time I had tyres they were filled with nitrogen (done without asking me :dull: ) and i haven't noticed the slightest bit of difference.

Air is 70% nitrogen anyway. Just another money spinner for the likes of Kwak Fut.

might be worth it.....

...if your name is 'the stig' :)

Filling a road cars tyres with nitrogen is a huge waste of time!!

The only reason we fill aircraft tyres with nitrogen at work is because the particles are larger, therefore tyres will deflate ever so slightly slower (i mean by such a small amount)

nitrogen is also not affected by temperature change as much as compressed air (eg when a jet is flying at mach 1 at 20,000 feet the moisture in compressed air would freeze)

basically its a huge marketing gimick!!!! (spelling)
